Magical Light Shows – Full Warranty Policy

Magical Light Shows (“MLS”) stands behind the quality of our products. These terms apply to All-in-One (AIO) components: pixels, controllers, receivers, coro props, extensions, show computers, and technical support.

1) Coro Props

  • Coverage: 30 days from receipt.

  • Details: Damages or shortages must be reported within 30 days of delivery; after this window, claims cannot be accepted.

  • Source: Third-party vendor; coverage is limited to the vendor’s policy.

2) Pixels

  • Coverage: 2 years from purchase date.

  • Details: Pixels must be returned to MLS uncut and unmodified for replacement.

  • Exclusions: Cutting/altering pixels; misuse; improper installation; operation outside published specs (including environmental exposure).

3) Extensions

  • Coverage: 2 years from purchase date.

  • Details: Covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

4) Controllers & Receivers (All-in-One Packages Only)

  • Coverage: 2 years from purchase date.

  • Scope: Warranty applies to the printed circuit board (PCB) included with MLS All-in-One packages.

  • Configuration Clause (MLS-Specific AIO): Only MLS-specific AIO configuration files supplied by MLS are authorized.
    Altering configuration files on the controller or the FPP/show player—including uploading any config/backup not supplied by MLS, or editing controller/FPP settings—voids the complete warranty and the Technical Support Warranty.

Examples of configuration alterations (voids coverage):

  • Uploading any controller or FPP backup/config file not supplied by MLS for your AIO.

  • Editing port assignments, pixel counts, start channels, voltage settings, or power-injection modes in the controller UI.

  • Changing E1.31/DDP universes, channel ranges, or multicast/unicast settings.

  • Modifying FPP Channel Outputs, Input/Output, MultiSync, GPIO, or Player settings.

  • Changing controller/FPP network parameters (IP, subnet, gateway, Wi-Fi SSID) beyond MLS-provided values.

  • Importing xLights controller definitions that overwrite MLS mappings.

Safe actions (do not void coverage):

  • Uploading purchased sequence packs to your show player (FPP) as media/content while leaving controller and FPP configuration unchanged.

  • Adjusting show schedule times in FPP Scheduler (leave channel/network/output config untouched).

  • Updating a controller or show player configuration file under MLS supervision (exactly as MLS instructs).

Exclusions: Improper wiring; incorrect power; electrical surges/spikes; water ingress; environmental conditions beyond rating; physical damage; hardware/software modifications.

5) Show Computers

  • Coverage: 1 year from purchase date (manufacturer’s warranty).

  • Details: Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

  • Configuration Clause (MLS-Specific AIO): Only MLS-specific AIO images and configuration files supplied by MLS are authorized.
    Altering configuration files on the FPP/show player or modifying system settings (e.g., networking, device mapping, control services) beyond MLS-provided AIO configuration voids the complete warranty and the Technical Support Warranty.

Examples of configuration alterations (voids coverage):

  • Re-imaging the show computer or FPP with a non-MLS image.

  • Importing non-MLS FPP backups or controller config exports that change outputs/channels.

  • Editing FPP Channel Outputs, Input/Output, MultiSync, E1.31/DDP, bridge/test modes, or Player settings.

  • Changing networking (static/DHCP mode, VLANs, Wi-Fi/LAN details) that breaks MLS mappings.

  • Installing scripts/services that alter device mapping, timing, or output behavior.

Safe actions (do not void coverage):

  • Uploading purchased sequence packs to your show player (FPP) as media/content while leaving system and output configuration untouched.

  • Operating normal start/stop/schedule controls within FPP without changing channel/network/output settings.

  • Updating a controller or show player configuration file under MLS supervision (exactly as MLS instructs).

Exclusions: Viruses/malware; third-party or user changes that alter system behavior; altered system settings; physical damage; operation outside rated specs.

6) Technical Support Warranty (All-in-One Packages)

  • Coverage Term: 25 months of MLS technical support from the AIO purchase date.

  • Eligibility: Non-transferable; available only to the original purchaser associated with the order.

  • Availability: Support is available for authorized MLS All-in-One packages and authorized AIO add-on packages matched to an MLS AIO system on record.

  • Scope of Support: Assistance with MLS-provided AIO images, firmware, configuration files, and standard setup/operation as originally delivered by MLS.

Exclusions that void both warranties (product & technical support):

  • Any alteration of configuration files on the controller or FPP/show player (including uploading non-MLS backups/configs; editing channel maps, universes, ports/pixel counts, network, MultiSync, Player, or output settings).

  • Issues arising after any such alterations.

After a void: Technical Support remains available at an hourly cost with a 1-hour minimum.
Pre-Approval: Contact MLS Support for written approval before system-level changes; approved changes remain eligible within this support term.

General Warranty Conditions

  • Proof of Purchase: Required for all claims.

  • Returns/Shipping: Customer is responsible for inbound shipping on warranty returns unless otherwise specified by MLS.

  • What’s Not Covered: Normal wear and tear; misuse; neglect; improper installation; cosmetic damage; acts of nature (e.g., lightning, flood, fire); operation outside rated specifications.

  • Configuration Changes (system-wide): Any alteration of configuration files on the controller or FPP/show player (outside MLS-provided AIO configuration) voids the complete warranty and the Technical Support Warranty until the system is restored to the MLS-provided AIO configuration and verified by MLS (service fees may apply).

  • All-in-One Limitation: Controller and receiver coverage is limited to products sold as part of MLS All-in-One packages (not standalone units unless expressly stated).

  • No Extension of Term: Repairs/replacements under warranty do not extend or renew the original warranty period.

  • Remedy: At MLS’s discretion, remedies may include repair, replacement, or equivalent credit for the defective item.
